MAIN FEATURES
The 12V200AH LiFePO4 Battery in ABS 4D format from Volthium is specially designed for cottage customers, motorized vehicles, trucking, and industrial applications. The battery is designed for energy storage banks ranging from 3kWh to 20 kWh.
These batteries have the particularity of having an accessible and reserved chamber for the BMS. This makes them repairable if needed, and helps extend the lifespan of the cells by limiting the transmission of heat to them. Additionally, a private chamber helps increase the usable temperature range of these batteries.
This new generation of batteries is also equipped with a stainless steel button that allows you to disable discharge while leaving the recharge activated. Extremely convenient when you want to leave the batteries connected to the solar system during storage, eliminating the fear of them being drained by parasitic discharges.
This brand new battery, with a casing exclusive to Volthium, has 2x RJ45 ports, with gold-plated pins, allowing communication on the RS485 protocol. This connection is also used to transmit internal battery information to the Victron environment (on their VE.CAN protocol). For this, get the Volthium HUB accessory, another exclusivity resulting from our internal and exclusive development.
Furthermore, the RJ45 connection allows you to add the Volthium Bluetooth transmitter, which can handle the management of up to 4 batteries when paired with the HUB.
Not only does this LiFePO4 accumulator resist vibrations, but it has a higher discharge range than the competition. Indeed, this battery can be discharged down to -25 degrees, instead of -20 degrees for the competition. And thanks to its self-heating feature, it can be recharged down to -40 degrees. This innovation is possible because the cells in Volthium batteries come from the automotive industry.
Know that the battery is equipped with two internal heating systems. The traditional intelligent system activates when you apply a recharge to the battery while its temperature is below zero degrees Celsius. The second system, called manual, triggers when you apply a voltage to the positive connector H+ (M6) of the battery. This manual heating system is not automated. If you connect the positive terminal of the battery (M8) to the H+ connector (M6) of the battery with a small piece of cable, it will trigger using the battery's energy. * Please note, it is necessary to use a timer to avoid forgetting the heating in operation. * The manual heating system is reserved for professionals and works down to -25 only.
The core of the BMS is produced by the American company Texas Instruments. This BMS microcontroller manufacturer is globally recognized in the field of electric vehicles, and is known for its long-standing collaboration with NASA and the US Army. The programming and communication protocols are entirely developed by our engineers in Quebec.
