MAIN FEATURES

The 12V 400 AH LiFePO4 battery in ABS, in 8D format, specially designed by Volthium for energy storage banks ranging from 5 kWh to 20 kWh and to serve customers of boats, sailboats, motor vehicles, and for industrial uses. The Volthium 12V400AH Batteries, with or without integrated heating system, meet ABYC standards, including clause E-13, related to communication.

Indeed, the battery integrates communication allowing the customer to set an audible and visual alert before the batteries go into protection mode. With their cell phone and the Volthium Monitor application, the customer can set an alert for a specific %SOC of their choice, in addition to determining a warning alert for high temperature and low temperature. This feature is available on several Volthium Batteries. In addition, the 12V400AH batteries are CSA UL1973 certified.

These batteries have the particularity of having an accessible and reserved chamber for the BMS. This makes them repairable if needed, and allows to extend the lifespan of the cells by limiting the transmission of heat to them. Furthermore, a private chamber increases the usable temperature range of these batteries.

Additionally, this lithium battery has an integrated cooling system that allows heat to be dissipated from the battery through its aluminum conductive plate. The heat sink further increases the temperature range for use, while promoting better efficiency at the integrated BMS level. Moreover, it is possible to attach an additional cooling system. Another Volthium exclusivity.

This new generation of batteries is also equipped with a stainless steel button that allows discharging to be disabled while leaving charging enabled. Extremely practical when you want to leave the batteries connected to the solar system during storage, while eliminating the fear that they have been drained by parasitic discharges.

This brand new battery, with a casing exclusive to Volthium, has 2x RJ45 ports, with gold-plated pins, allowing communication on the RS485 protocol. This connection also serves to transmit internal battery information to the Victron environment (on their VE.CAN protocol). To do this, get the Volthium HUB accessory, another exclusivity resulting from our internal and exclusive development.

Not only does this LiFePO4 accumulator resist vibrations, but it has a discharge range superior to the competition. Indeed, this battery can be discharged down to -25 degrees, instead of -20 degrees for the competition. And if you opt for the self-heating version, it can be recharged down to -40 degrees. This innovation is possible because the cells in Volthium batteries come from the automotive industry.

Know that the battery is equipped with two internal heating systems. The traditional intelligent system activates when you apply a recharge to the battery while its temperature is below zero degrees Celsius. The second system, called manual, triggers when you apply a voltage to the positive connector H+ (M6) of the battery. This manual heating system is not automated. If you connect the positive terminal of the battery (M8) to the H+ connector (M6) of the battery with a small piece of cable, it will trigger using the battery's energy. * Please note, it is necessary to use a timer to avoid forgetting to turn off the heating. * The manual heating system is reserved for professionals and works down to -25 only.

The core of the BMS is produced by the American company Texas Instruments. This BMS microcontroller manufacturer is globally recognized in the field of electric vehicles, and is also known for its long-standing collaboration with NASA and the US military. The programming and communication protocols are entirely developed by our engineers in Quebec.
